Friday, February 17
Morning:
Weather: 50s, overcast.
Quality of Ride: I don't remember
Tech: None
Incidents: I can't believe what I saw this morning. A pedestrian crossing Beacon against the light stopped dead in the middle of the crosswalk and just stared at the oncoming traffic. What is it with this kind of pedestrian behavior? I see it all the time. They cross the street when they don't have the walk sign and are then astonished to find themselves in imminent danger of being run down. And then, rather that retreat to curb, or put some pep in their step and run to the other side, they stop dead with a baffled expression, completely at a loss.
Comments: Photo is of middle of Comm Ave - it's all mud. Photo doesn't quite do justice to the pure brown muddiness. It just screams 'February'.
Evening:
Weather: temp dropped to low 40s, very high winds.
Quality of Ride: Great until the Dragon. The winds were shifting all around but basically were with me (i.e. at my back or quartering off my stern) until l hit the Dragon. At that point I had a screaming head-wind all the way up Beacon.
Tech: I must get a new saddle. The run through the Dragon incorporates bumps at the end that are much like a mogul field on a downhill ski run - if you don't 'post' on your cranks, your perineum gets punched like a speed bag.
Incidents: I can't even get into it - another SAP acting foolishly.
Comments: This is my story, this is my chain.
